The Mediterranean island delights families and lovers, with a glorious blend of culture, history, hospitality, and beaches.
Just South of Turkey, in the eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus is a sun-drenched island, split into two distinct Greek and Turkish parts, perfect for year round relaxing getaways.
The rugged mountains and quaint white-washed towns provide quiet relaxation, with outstanding dining options of fresh fish and locally grown wine. However, it’s the thousands of secluded beaches that most people go for, with crystal clear water and fine golden sand.
It’s warm from March to October, with extreme heat in August, making Cyprus a great option for Spring to Autumn sunshine. However, from November to February you can find good snow in the Troödos, on the famous Mount Olympus.
Every day you can find a new favourite beach or a undiscovered gem of a harbour village, but you shouldn’t miss experiencing the thriving modern cultural hotspot of the capital Nicosia, which is worth at least a day of your visit, with excellent food options. For something special, check out the Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station, also.
Learn about the fascinating history of the island, through its engaging museums and archeological sites you can walk around. And, of course, get lost to discover your own private beach.
Set in beautifully sculpted gardens overlooking its own private beach, the Anassa has a European feel, rather than traditional Greek. With a wonderful spa and excellent dining options, it’s relaxed and spacious luxury.
A stylish family friendly hotel on the Limassol resort strip, the Amathus benefits from sharing facilities with the Four Seasons, at half the price.
A bright and airy family hotel on Larnaca beach, with spacious gardens and beach, alongside great sports facilities and stylish rooms for the price.
Cyprus is like any country when multiple cultural identities compete for your tastebuds, but with the reliably great weather enjoy the zesty Greek salads, whilst also indulging in the just line-caught seafood.
If you’re only going to try one place, then make it the Hotel Troodos, found on the tallest mountain on the island, serving authentic Cypriot dishes, super fresh produce, and a view to take your breath away.
